Statement – March 18, 2021
Stop Asian Hate
In memory of Xiaojie Tan, Daoyou Feng, Julie Park, Hyeon Jeong Park, Delaina Ashley Yaun, Paul Andre Michels, and others.
“Anti-Asian violence in this country certainly did not start with the hate crimes in Atlanta on March 16, and the refusal of investigators to name the racist nature of the terror inflicted is also not new. We must stand collectively against racism and bigotry, name the escalation of violence against Asian communities as the terrorism that it is, and hold white perpetrators of terrorism accountable for their violent acts.”
– Fred Swanson, Executive Director, Gay City: Seattle’s LGBTQ Center
