Factors Associated with Clinician Confidence with Gender Dysphoria in Children
Hello,
As a graduate student in the School of Behavioral Sciences at Liberty University, I am conducting research as part of the requirements for a doctoral degree. The purpose of my research is to understand and describe the unique impacts of clinical self-efficacy when working with childhood gender dysphoria and what people have found helpful in their processes of increasing self-efficacy, and I am writing to invite eligible participants to join my study.
Participants must be English-speaking, U.S.-licensed mental health clinicians (provisionally or full) who have worked with children under the age of 18 who experienced diagnosed childhood gender dysphoria at the time of treatment. Participants, if willing, will be asked to participate in a 30–60-minute, audio-recorded and, optionally, video-recorded, virtual interview, and be available for possible follow-up questions (30-60 minutes) which will also be audio-recorded and, optionally, video-recorded. There will be a separate member-checking step for participants whereby the researcher will ask participants to review the interview transcripts to verify the accuracy of their statements and recorded themes. Names and other identifying information will be collected as part of this study, but participant identities will not be disclosed.

A consent document will be provided following the screening if you are determined eligible. The consent document contains additional information about my research. If you choose to participate, you will need to sign the consent document and return it before the time of the interview.
